I booked Sandy Thinnes for my bridal makeup for my wedding on August 18, 2024 and she delivered with flawless execution. After endless months of internet searching, I found Sandy who was willing to take me on as a solo (bride) client. I didn’t have a bridal party and found it very challenging to secure a makeup artist that would take me on individually. After reviewing Sandy’s portfolio, I reached out to her and the rest was history. From day one, Sandy makes you feel comfortable and heard. She listens to your makeup vision and/or concerns and addresses them with knowledge and professionalism. I opted for a bolder bridal glam look during my bridal trial and was elated with the outcome. A few days before my wedding day, I experienced a skin flareup and discussed this with Sandy to ensure flawless coverage. Again, Sandy was so receptive to my needs and flexible with any changes. The day of the wedding went incredibly smooth. Sandy was open to working in tandem with my hair stylist to maximize our time and truly executed makeup artistry. Sandy is truly an incredible artist and human inside and out and I would recommend her to anyone looking for an artist for their wedding day! She is a true collaborator and professional, and genuinely listens and understands when the person she's working with is talking about the look they want, how they want to feel, etc. Sandy did my makeup for my wedding day as well as my mom's, 17 year-old sister's (a bridesmaid) and two of our groomsmaids'. She was working with a very wide range of ages and preferred looks, and truly nailed every single one of them. Everyone left the chair looking and feeling so confident. I felt so beautiful the whole day AND my makeup was still perfect by the end of the night. You will be so happy that you decided to work with Sandy for your wedding!

Sandy is an absolutely incredible makeup artist. She exceeded every one of my expectations and made me feel incredibly beautiful on my wedding day. She was one of my favorite vendors to work with! Her expertise and professionalism were clear from the onset. It’s also worth mentioning that I didn’t have a formal bridal party, so it was really difficult to find someone to do makeup just for me, my mom, and my mother-in-law. Sandy traveled to the venue to do makeup just for the three of us. Not only is Sandy’s work amazing, she is fun to talk to and clearly just an all around really lovely person. I highly recommend working with her!

There is no question in my mind that Sandy is the best in the business. If you are on her page, stop looking and just hire her!! From the get go, Sandy was quick to my questions, polite and professional, and had the most approachable demeanor. She has a heart of gold and welcomes you with open arms, and truly helps bring out your beauty inside and out. I came in with only one photo for her, and despite this, Sandy understood my vision, asked me to trust her expertise (I obviously did), and I was FLOORED by my results. She made me feel gorgeous, but also made me still feel like myself, not a dolled up, fake version, which is EXACTLY what I wanted. I'm confident you could see my skin from space with how dewy and glowy she made me look, and I can't describe how amazing she made me feel. On top of that, my bridal party/parents were all THRILLED with their makeup - I have been to plenty of weddings where someone in the bridal party gets upset that their makeup isn't what they wanted, but I knew with Sandy there was no chance. I can't recommend her enough for your wedding, engagement, or truly any big event!!

Sandy did my makeup for my wedding, and I honestly don't have enough good things to say about the whole experience! I am a pretty novice makeup user, so I wasn't entirely sure what I was looking for. She helped me come up with a flattering and event-appropriate look during the trial (and gassed me up the entire time, it was great!). On the day of the wedding, the look was exactly the same. She even set me up with her hairstylist, so both aspects were cohesive and perfect. I have never felt more beautiful and confident than I did after Sandy did my makeup! I wish I had more opportunities to use her services. Thank you again, Sandy, you're the best!

the best makeup artist in chicago (and has trained many of the best) i’ve used sandy for professional headshots, family photos and so many events. she is wildly talented. she uses the best products and is always updating her collection with new finds.she is very professional, reliable and great with communication: even more important- she is a great hang! easy to talk to and gives great advice on skincare and life. i could not recommend her enough.
