The best decision I made after saying "yes" to marrying my husband was hiring Irene to plan the wedding. I went into wedding planning knowing that I would need a capable planner, as we were seeking an elopement abroad. I was overwhelmed with finding a planner when I stumbled upon High Emotion Weddings. On their website were dreamy pictures of elegant weddings around Europe. Their portfolio closely resembled my Pinterest board, a timeless look with unique, modern elements. Irene responded to my inquiry quickly and, right away, provided her availability to have a call. On that first call, Irene wanted to learn about us as a couple and our dreams for our wedding day down to how we wanted it to look and feel. This began the incredible journey of planning our wedding with High Emotion Weddings.

Despite the time difference between Irene in Vienna and us in Wisconsin, Irene's schedule was flexible, making it easy for us to schedule calls with her. She always responded quickly to emails with thoughtful responses to our many questions. It's hard to describe the relief we felt when we realized that for every problem, Irene had a solution, and for every wish, Irene had a plan to make it a reality. Irene has a great system that makes the planning process feel much less daunting, taking it one step at a time. She made sure that we were always on track and told us what to begin considering for upcoming steps so we never felt rushed in making a decision. It was also reassuring that she had previously worked with many of the vendors we hoped to book. Irene's ability to make our vision work for our budget was truly invaluable and something that we could not have done alone. Irene's assistance greatly exceeded our expectations. She helped to arrange our documents for our marriage certificate, booked us transportation for our stay before and after the wedding, and provided insight ranging from wedding dress shopping to our honeymoon. With Irene, planning our elopement in a country that we had never been to was surprisingly seamless.

On the wedding day, Irene was truly amazing. She was available if my husband or I needed anything, coordinated with all of the vendors, artistically arranged gorgeous detail shots for our photographers, and set up our beautiful cake and dinner tables in the most elegant way. Her husband, Mihai, was also invaluable on the wedding day. He was available to help my husband get ready and relax before the ceremony while also coordinating with the rest of the team. Irene and Mihai are the kind of people you wish to have around you on your wedding day as they are both extremely considerate, patient, and professional. My husband and I were able to be present in each moment of our day, from getting ready in the morning to having our romantic dinner together at the end of the night. The day was much more beautiful than I had imagined, and truly everything, from how it looked to how it felt, was us. In the beginning, Irene had helped me fine-tune my vision and she miraculously brought it to life. No matter how you choose to get married, a large wedding, or an intimate elopement, it's one day that you'll remember for the rest of your life. We immediately fell in love with the classic elegance and breathtaking beauty that exuded from photo after photo in HEW’s portfolio. The initial discovery call sealed the deal for us. Irene was warm, inquisitive, and thoughtful. She wanted to know about us as a couple - our likes and dislikes; what our ideal day looked like; how we wanted to feel. We found this to be refreshing compared to calls we had with other planners whose first order of business was to discuss numbers, logistics, and deposits. With them, it seemed like just another transaction. With Irene, it immediately felt personal.

We worked closely with Irene and Mihai to refine the details of our wedding weekend. They consulted us about every element - website, music, photography, food & beverage, decor, you name it! They asked us to share the vibe we wanted, and they narrowed down a few options for each category from which we could choose. This was a blessing for people like Joe and me who are super indecisive! Irene and Mihai provided their expert opinion when we asked for input, but they were never pushy and never tried to sway us in any particular direction. Irene graciously advocated for us when speaking to vendors - communicating our desires and our concerns and negotiating pricing when it was warranted.

Each step of planning was handled so thoroughly and so methodically. Irene was speedy and comprehensive in her responses. Her communication via email was always crystal clear - something not easily achieved for most people, but super important when it comes to planning the finer details of a destination wedding. We had regular status calls where Irene provided us with a list of completed, ongoing, and future tasks. I cannot stress enough how buttoned-up everything was. We were in lockstep with Irene and Mihai through the entire process; our visions completely aligned. We truly felt a partnership with them.

Joe and I always scoffed and rolled our eyes when people would tell us your wedding is the best day of your life. “We’ll have lots of best days!”, we’d respond. How wrong we were. We both can honestly say that Irene and Mihai gave us the most incredible day of our life. The thought, care, and attention to detail that went into planning was second to none. The execution was flawless. They took all the stress out of planning a wedding. They did all the heavy lifting so we could sit back and simply enjoy our day. They created a masterpiece: making it possible for us to marry in an exquisite church, and then celebrate our love with our family and closest friends in an actual palace! The expressions and reactions of our families and friends are forever ingrained in our minds. We have never felt so much happiness, so much love.

We’ve been to a lot of great weddings, but there’s something about them that always seem so generic; cookie-cutter, if you will. They all have a similar look and feel, bar the different flowers or linen color. That wasn’t the case for us. Everything that Irene touched was pure gold. I don't know that I can adequately convey how absolutely wonderful Cristina and Irene were throughout the entire process of planning and executing our destination wedding. Not only did they do a phenomenal job, but they did so under what were (at least for me!) some incredibly challenging circumstances: we are an American couple, living in the UK, who wanted to get married in the Normandy countryside. Did I mention that neither of us speak French? This meant that Cristina and Irene had to seek out and cultivate relationships with an almost entirely new team of vendors, organize communications with a couple in England, and coordinate events for an American guest list... Not only did our three days of wedding events come together splendidly, they did so with almost complete reliance on Cristina and Irene's talents, patience, organizational prowess, and impeccable design. To say it was a perfect day is a vast understatement.

Cristina and Irene put together a beautiful welcome dinner for us near our venue in Caen (not the first place one would think of for outstanding French food and yet they managed to secure exclusive use of a Michelin star restaurant there), our wedding day (held at the Moulin de Bully - a gorgeous setting, but necessitating that all design elements be brought in from elsewhere to achieve the classic, elegant feel we were after), and our day after brunch (also held at the venue). Each event was beautifully crafted with obvious emphasis on the wedding day itself.

Again, words do not do justice to the beautiful day Irene and Cristina crafted for us. It was perfect and when I say perfect - if anything did go amiss with the day, I never heard, knew, or needed to do anything about it. The HEW team handled it. I got to enjoy the entirety of my wedding day with the people I loved. I was able to peruse the table designs as my florist cheerfully went about putting together designs, soaked up the sun during a break with my hair and makeup artist, witnessed all my stationary and guest favors come together, and enjoyed a lunch prepared and packaged for us by our caterers. It was heaven. Irene kept us on time for the ceremony, the quartet played the loveliest rendition of one of my favorite music pieces of all time, and my DJ handed me a microphone just in time to read my vows! I got to actually eat the phenomenal food I had chosen (how many brides can say that?) in the beautiful atmosphere and ambience created by Cristina and Irene.

Cristina and Irene had created a Normandy wedding team out of thin air and managed each moving piece seamlessly. I don't know that I will ever be able to thank them enough for my wedding day and I can't imagine trusting anyone else to have carried out such an undertaking. If you have been searching for wedding planners, especially if you are planning your wedding or elopement abroad, there is no need to look any further. I would like to thank Irene for making an intimate and small wedding the biggest event in our lives! Hiring Irene was the best decision I made in the process of planning my wedding. She made being a bride much at ease with her help, advice and support every step of the way. My husband and I traveled from California to Austria for the first time in May 2017 to be married. Irene, as thoughtful as she is, even had a special surprise waiting for us upon arrival to the hotel! We immediately fell in love with Austria and were delighted that we chose to have our wedding there. The architecture, cuisine and culture are incomparable to any other place we have ever been. We could not have picked a more beautiful place to be married or travel with family.

Two days before our wedding I was stuck with food poisoning. This made me a bit anxious before the wedding, but Irene had everything perfectly arranged. Our wedding day turned out better than I had ever anticipated. Irene provided elegance in every detail of the day, from the music to the flowers, even down to the name cards and table linens.

We had a tiny wedding of just immediate family. Part of our wedding day included a photo shoot throughout the city. Irene created a separate plan for our family. Her attentiveness was beyond sincere and greatly appreciated by all of our guests.

I had planned separately a reception style weekend for friends in Italy. My one regret is I did not have Irene help me plan this reception as well. Although the weekend turned out wonderfully, it was missing the stylistically tasteful, chic and romantic atmosphere Irene created on our wedding day. Also a quirky part of our wedding festivities was that I ordered the exact same cake, using the same instructions in Austria and Italy. I must say the results were translated quite differently and Austria was definitely the winner in taste and design.

Thank you Irene for everything- it was truly the most beautiful day of our lives.
