Elin was amazing to work with for my wedding makeup! My husband and I got engaged in Iceland and I was excited to talk with Elin about growing up there. It was super easy to coordinate a trial at her home setup. On the wedding day, she did a fantastic job highlighting everyone’s natural beauty and making sure my false lashes were comfortable. I really enjoyed talking with her and highly recommend her to future brides looking for a makeup artist!

I enjoyed my private makeup lesson with Elin. I was her only client in her cozy home and had her undivided attention. She was easy to talk to and was a patient teacher who answered my questions--which I always have a lot of! I like how she did one side of my face and had me do the other side so I had hands-on learning. I was cautious of going to a makeup artist because I have acne-prone and mature skin. I want full coverage without the look of cakey foundation that settles in lines and causes me to break out. And I didn't want to look like a clown! I felt it looked natural, even though it was "dewier" compared to the matte powder I normally wear to camouflage my flaws. I'm now more open to trying to add a little more "glow" to my skin. She didn't want to make me look like someone else, but rather a better version of myself. She encouraged me to be more accepting of myself, flaws and all! It's nice to work with a total stranger who can evaluate and make recommendations without the bias of emotional attachment. I especially like how she wrote down the products she used and showed placement on a face illustration. I am keeping it in my vanity for reference. I also liked how she said I could bring my own makeup and brushes or I could use hers. There wasn't pressure that I had to use or purchase certain products. Should have done this decades ago!

Her work is stunning and made not only me, but my bridesmaids and mom feel absolutely beautiful on my wedding day! What can I say about Elin... She is simply one of THE BEST stylists in the midwest. I've worked with Elin for more than14 years now and she is my go to stylist for hair and makeup on all my commercial, editorial and beauty shoots. No matter what the look (from clean & natural to super edgy) she can pull it off. She's always on-time for shoots (if not early) and super collaborative and helpful on set. Since she's been a model for years she knows exactly what its like to to sit in the makeup chair, and can also help with coaching on set. I can't say enough good things about my experience with Elin! A few months before my reception, my original makeup artist told me she wouldn't be able to do my makeup that date after all, but she was nice enough to find someone else with availability. That turned out to be Elin.

Elin was great at communication and about listening to the look I was going for (retro pinup). The makeup trial turned out amazing. I don't wear makeup that much and don't know a ton about it, but Elin was able to guide me and give me suggestions, but not forcing anything I wasn't comfortable with. She was also just fun to chat to about travel and everything else.

On the day of the reception in August 2022, Elin came to my hotel room and did makeup for my cousin, sister-in-law, and I. My cousin was a little apprehensive because she has been in weddings in the past where the makeup artist did not blend concealer well and did not listen to what she wanted. My cousin ended up loving her look, as did my sister-in-law.

Elin was also happy to wear a mask when I requested it and was totally understanding about it.

I highly recommend Elin for any makeup needs!
